CYCLE II ANNOUNCED

Course Details

Design and Duration
The total duration of the course for CYCLE II is six months (September 2015– February 2016), with once a month contact session, which will be conducted on designated SUNDAY

Minimum Eligibility & Course Administration

MD/DNB (Medicine or Internal Medicine or Family Medicine)
OR
Medical graduate (MBBS) with minimum 3 years of clinical experience) as per recommendation of Regional Faculty.

Course Contents

ACMDC is a comprehensive course comprising of Modules, case studies, interactive videos and group exercises. All the participants would be evaluated on a basis of test both prior and after the module. The modules would cover all practical aspects, use of insulin and newer medications including lipid management, vascular examination, advanced cardiac testing that promise cardio-metabolic risk reduction and case-based approaches to screen and evaluate diabetic vascular disease, especially diabetic nephropathy, retinopathy and peripheral arterial disease.

The course will cover several challenging areas to the clinicians, for example, some of the areas covered would be, how to reduce residual CAD risk despite optimal statin treatment, how to manage diabetes in hospitalized people with heart disease, evaluation and management of people with heart failure and diabetes, and management of other cardiovascular co-morbidities.

A special focus would be given on role of diet and exercise in the management of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases (Instructive and illustrative videos will be provided as a part of curriculum).

Coronary Artery Disease (CAD),Stroke and Peripheral Ariterial Disease (PAD)in Diabetes

Management of Glycaemia with special reference to CVD

Evaluation System

Certificate of Successful Completion:

  • Participation/Attendance  in 5 out of 6 monthly contact sessions (including the pre-test and post -test of each module)

Completion of assigned course work

  • (Completion of two descriptive assignments based on completed modules to be submitted  at end of 3rd and 4th module)
  • Appearance and clearance of final written examination in the form of MCQs in an hour, along with Module 6 (Min. 50% score required to clear the examination)
