Bring together an unwavering passion for diabetes care and education with sheer commitment of improving the lives of diabetics, which is what Dr. Sunil Gupta, is all about.

As on 30th Sept 2019, he has organized and contributed towards 2074 programs (885 Hello Diabetes Education Programs for diabetics, 812 Continuous Medical Education programs for doctors, 328 Diabetes Screening Camps, 48 Diet Exhibitions and 203 mass education programs through AIR & TV) since last 25 years; i.e. 78 programs/year or 1.5 programs/week.

This has directly aided 3,02,091 Medical Professionals and 1,60,748 Diabetics and their care takers. Through his mass education Hello Diabetes campaign, lakhs of rural & urban populations of discrete culture, teachers, Juvenile Diabetics, school students, dieticians, nurses, Pharmacists, Government officials, NGOs, MNCs, Banks, LIC, WCL, MECL, MOIL, Railways, police community, CRPF Jawans, Journalists, and even jail mates have been benefited.

Free distribution of 60,000 Hello Diabetes Hindi booklets, 8100 Diabetes Identity Cards & 2500 diabetes education CDs, has facilitated spreading the zephyr of diabetes awareness across the country.

NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS

  • He has been honored with the prestigious “Outstanding Service to Diabetes India” Award for making Diabetes Care during, 9th World Congress of DIABETES INDIA 2019 on 28th Feb – 3rd March 2019 at Jaipur.
  • Dr. Sunil Gupta felicitated for conducting National Diabetes Educator’s Program (NDEP) since consecutive 6 years on 20 July 2018 at Chennai.
  • DCRC is recognized as IDF centre of Education & IDF centre of Excellence in Diabetes care for the year 2017-2019 at International Diabetes Federation World Congress 4-8 Dec 2017 at Abu Dhabi, UAE.
  • GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS (2014) Participated in the largest Diabetic Neuropathy screening (1676) at 27 locations, across India on World Diabetes Day 14th Nov 2013, supported by Diabetic Foot Society of India, Novo Nordisk Education Foundation & The Times of India. & “Limca book of World Record”-(2016)

  • Mega Hello Diabetes education program for People with Diabetes & their caretakers at multiple locations in central India taken 878 programs since 25 years.
  • “Diabetes Care on Wheels”…Ambulance for rural screening of diabetes
  • Every Saturday “Hello diabetes program” for IPD & OPD patients & caretakers at DCRC premises since 8 yrs.
  • Screening of Teachers for diabetes along with diabetes education program “Educating the Educators”
  • Adolescent Obesity Education Programs for High school students for adopting Healthy Dietary Practices.
  • Free consultation to the needy Juvenile diabetics.
  • Annual diabetes education residential two days camp for Juvenile diabetics since 19 years. Instrumental in initiating Juvenile Diabetic Parent Association of India, Nagpur.
  • Free annual screening for Metabolic Syndrome in Women with past history of Gestational Diabetes (GDM Club).
  • Adoption of unprivileged juvenile diabetic children (Type1) for annual Free Insulin therapy.
  • Education program & free stationery for orphans of Mission India project at rural Nagpur.
  • Screening & education of Rural Leprosy patients at Anandwan (Warora) & for people at Old age homes.

For the last 25 years, Dr. Sunil Gupta’s untiring, selfless and relentless humanitarian determination towards imparting diabetes education has served people from different walks of life. He has laid the foundation of Therapeutic Diabetes Education towards primary, secondary and tertiary prevention of diabetes and its life threatening complications. With dedication of enormous number of hours, unparalleled energy & enthusiasm, he has dedicated his life for the betterment of people with diabetes.
